State BJP protests against Rahul's remark
Lucknow, Feb. 5 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday staged protests across Uttar Pradesh, including in Lucknow, by burning effigies of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged remarks against Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu.
The demonstrations were led by Sikh leaders and workers of the BJP, who raised slogans condemning what they termed as an insult to the Sikh community.
In Lucknow, members of the Sikh community gathered at Khalsa Chowk in Alambagh under the leadership of Sardar Parvinder Singh, general secretary of Guru Gobind Singh Seva Samiti.
Addressing the protesters, Singh said Gandhi's remark calling Bittu a "traitor" at Parliament's main gate had hurt Sikh sentiments and sparked anger across the community.
He demanded an apology and resignation from the Congress leader....
