LUCKNOW, Jan. 17 -- Spirited Sports College defeated Milani Football Club by 2-0 to make it to the semi-finals of the Satwant Singh and Ravindra Pal Singh Memorial Football Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Friday. Mishbaul Khan put the winners into the lead in the eighth minute when Mishbaul Khan darted the ball home from the right flank. Though Milani Football Club launched a foray of attacks, to no avail. The second half also saw a tough contest, with both teams making several attacks, but strong defenses prevented either team from scoring. In the 38th minute, a combined move of the Sports College vanguards paid rich dividends when Saqib Ahmed found the target with a powerful kick. Now on Saturday, Sports College will play against Big Blue Football Club 3:00 p.m. The second day of the 3rd Pandit Ram Autar Misra Memorial Sub-Junior Hockey Tournament on Friday witnessed contrasting results, at the Chandra Bhan Gupt Khel Maiden here.
