Haridwar, Feb. 13 -- A joint search and rescue operation involving the police, Army expert divers and disaster response teams was launched on Thursday to trace a 23-year-old Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee student who was swept away in the Ganga Canal while on an evening walk with friends at Ravidas Ghat on Wednesday, a police officer aware of the matter said on Thursday.
