RPF constable saves elderly woman from falling under train at Kanpur stn
KANPUR, Feb. 6 -- An elderly woman had a narrow escape at Kanpur Central railway station on Thursday after she slipped while attempting to board a moving train and nearly fell into the gap between the platform and the coach, before an RPF constable pulled her to safety.
The incident occurred at platform no 5 as the 20802 Magadh express was departing for Patna. The woman, identified as Anwar Jahan, a resident of Meston Road, was travelling with her son, Amir Haq. While attempting to board the moving train, she lost her balance and slipped towards the track.
RPF constable Vinod Kumar Yadav, who was on duty at the platform, noticed the situation and immediately grabbed her hand, pulling her back onto the platform.
Following the incident, RPF personnel took Anwar Jahan and her son to the RPF post for assistance. She later said she attempted to board the train in haste after it started moving, fearing she might miss it.
Her son, Amir, and the elderly woman expressed their gratitude to the RPF constable for his swift action, which saved her life....
