LUCKNOW, Jan. 16 -- Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa has directed all the district election officers to ensure that booth level officers (BLOs) read the list of the voters whose names have been documented in the voter list as well as those who have been marked as uncollectible at booths on January 18. In a virtual meeting with the district election officers on Thursday over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign in the state, the CEO said the names of the voters whose names have been mentioned in the voter list as well as those whose names have been dropped should be read out in a mission mode. "Booth-level officers should be present at all booths to ensure a systematic and effective completion of the programme," he said. The BLOs should be provided the voter list published on January 6 after the enumeration phase. The list of voters marked as uncollectible, including the lists of absent/shifted/deceased/duplicate voters should be provided so that voters can verify their entries in the voter lists, Rinwa added. For the convenience of voters, Form 6 (including declaration), Form 6A, Form 7, and Form 8 (including declaration) related to claims and objections will be available in sufficient quantities at all booths. Eligible citizens are requested to be present on the spot and submit applications for addition, modification, or deletion on the prescribed forms, he said. "To effectively monitor the programme, the electoral registration officer in the respective assembly constituencies will ensure that the prescribed procedures are completed at all the booths. The personnel associated with the SIR process will be present to assist the booth-level officers," the CEO added. The complaints received on the National Grievance Service Portal will be resolved promptly. Immediate action should be taken to resolve the cases on priority basis. The complainants should be provided factual answers so that they are satisfied, he said.htc...
