Ram Mandir Trust to run 50-bed cancer hospital in Ayodhya
Lucknow, Jan. 5 -- The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra will run a cancer hospital in Ayodhya, officials said. The hospital will be constructed by Tata Cancer Care Foundation.
This was discussed in a meeting of the Ram Mandir Construction Committee, which began in Ayodhya on Sunday and will conclude on Monday.
Land for the 50-bed hospital will be provided by the family of Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, who passed away in August 2025.
A 300-bed super specialty hospital is already under construction in Ayodhya, and will replace the Sitapur Eye Hospital on Ram Path.
The project, costing Rs 163 crore, will provide modern medical facilities and specialist treatments. The state government has released Rs 48 crore as the first installment.
Nripendra Misra, the chairman of the Committee, presided over the meeting. Amit Kumar Ghosh, additional chief secretary (Medical Health and Family Welfare), was also present.
According to the Trust, land for the hospital will be provided by Yatindra Mishra, son of late Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, who was revered by people of Ayodhya.
"Following the completion of the Ram Temple construction, there are plans to provide better medical facilities to devotees and local residents. This meeting is being held to discuss these plans," Misra said.
"All the construction work that has been completed so far will be handed over to the Ram Temple Trust," said Misra.
Along with this, the construction of a memorial in memory of karsevaks was also discussed.
The Trust assured that the hall for storing luggage for pilgrims in the Ram Temple complex will also be completed soon.
The construction of a temple, which served as the old shrine where Lord Ramlala was enshrined, will also be completed by March 2026.
Along with a 300-bed modern hospital, a cancer hospital will also come up in Ayodhya.
