Jhansi, Jan. 14 -- A senior clerk of the public works department (PWD), Santosh Niranjan, was caught by the anti-corruption department from his office here on Tuesday, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a man for releasing his father's pension. The victim, Ghanshyam Kushwaha, was a retired government employee, and was expecting his gratuity and pension. While part of his gratuity was released, the rest of the amount was pending. Victim's son, Rajendra Kushwaha, an auto-rickshaw driver, had approached the office several times and the concerned clerk Niranjan demanded Rs 40,000 as a bribe for releasing the pending amount. He agreed to accept the money in two installments. Meanwhile, Rajendra approached the anti-corruption department and lodged a complaint....
