PRAYAGRAJ, April 9 -- A property dealer was shot dead in broad daylight on Wednesday evening in the Enuddinpur locality under Kareli police station area, triggering panic in the neighbourhood. The incident occurred around 6.30pm when six masked assailants arrived on three motorcycles, opened fire, and fled the scene within moments. The victim, 47-year-old Mohammad Irfan, a resident of Enuddinpur Gauspur, sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest and collapsed at the spot, bleeding profusely. He was rushed to SRN Hospital by the police, where doctors declared him dead. According to police officials, Irfan was sitting at a tea stall barely 50 metres from his residence when the attackers struck. Witnesses said the assailants had covered their faces. Before anyone nearby could react, one of the attackers fired at Irfan, after which all six fled on their motorcycles.
