Probe ordered into salary payment to over 47K staff
LUCKNOW, Feb. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all departments to identify 47,816 employees who failed to upload their movable and immovable property details on the Manav Sampada portal by January 31, 2026, and verify whether their January salary was still disbursed despite non-compliance.
The department of appointment and personnel on Monday issued an order in this regard with chief secretary SP Goyal sending the same to all the departments for compliance.
Citing data shared by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the chief secretary said the asset disclosure was mandatory under the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1956, and is linked with salary payment.
The order instructs departments to ensure that salaries are not released to employees who do not submit their annual property returns. It further makes it clear that if salary was paid in violation of the rules, responsibility will be fixed on the concerned drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs) and disciplinary action will be initiated against them....
