AGRA, Feb. 15 -- A 'sevayat' (priest) from Goswami community at Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan was arrested for allegedly attacking a devotee in the head over a dispute near the temple. A case was registered for attempt to murder against Manoj Goswami on the complaint lodged by the injured devotee who along with his wife reached Vrindavan from Ghazipur on Saturday. Giving this information, Peetam Pal Singh, deputy SP (Sadar), Mathura, said the accused was sent to jail after being produced in a court. "The case has been registered under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder), 352 (provocation for breach of peace) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused at Vrindavan police station on the complaint of Keshendra Yadav," the DSP (Sadar) added. The complainant alleged that he was at Banke Bihari temple. Those near the stairs of Radha Vallabh gate sought way but the accused got provoked and had an altercation with devotees and struck the complainant in his head causing bleeding. It was further alleged that Goswami also used abusive language and threatened the devotees around. The video of the incident also went viral....
