Police bar SP MP, leaders from meeting murder victim's family in Kaushambi
PRAYAGRAJ, April 29 -- Tensions flared on Tuesday after police prevented Samajwadi Party MP Pushpendra Saroj and other party leaders from visiting the family of a murder victim in Chhota Adhara village under Karari police station area. Citing law-and-order concerns, authorities stopped the leaders at their residences and deployed heavy force on all routes leading to the village, including a zonal riot control team.
The victim, Bharat Singh, was allegedly hacked to death with an axe on April 19. Police arrested all named accused-Ashok Kumar Pandey and his sons Akash and Ankit-based on a complaint by Singh's father, and efforts are ongoing to identify other suspects.
