Lucknow, Feb. 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone of India Chip, north India's first semiconductor unit, in the YEIDA area on Saturday. He will also virtually flag off the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Metro services in Meerut on Sunday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the programme at Mohiuddinpur Rally Ground in Meerut. The semiconductor plant, a joint venture of HCL Group and Foxconn, is coming up on 48 acres in Sector 28 of YEIDA. Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will also be present at the project site. The project, being set up with support from the Centre's Semiconductor Mission and the state government, will be the country's first Display Driver Integrated Circuit (DDIC) OSAT facility for advanced chip packaging, assembly and testing, marking a key step towards making Uttar Pradesh a semiconductor manufacturing hub.htc...
