Pipraghat rly crossing to get RoB; Dilkusha Road widening planned
LUCKNOW, Feb. 1 -- Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has started work on Phase III of the Green Corridor project between Pipraghat and Shaheed Path. The nearly 5-km stretch is expected to provide major relief to commuters travelling from Cantonment towards Ayodhya Road and Kanpur Road.
Vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar inspected the entire project stretch on Saturday to review progress and issued key instructions to officials. He directed the construction of a railway overbridge (RoB) at the Pipraghat railway crossing and ordered the widening of Dilkusha Road to handle future traffic load.
The vice-chairman instructed officials to obtain the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Cantonment Board and begin construction of the ROB at the earliest.
The proposed ROB will be around 240 metres long and 12 metres wide.
Prathamesh Kumar also inspected the site of a proposed four-lane bridge between Pipraghat and G-20 Road. Officials informed him that the construction agency has already been finalised through the tender process. He directed them to start construction within a week.
Under the project, LDA will construct a 2.8-km-long four-lane embankment from Pipraghat to the Army land drain and a 2.5-km-long embankment from the Army land drain to Shaheed Path.
Kumar also inspected the proposed Green Corridor alignment between Ekana Cricket Stadium and Kisan Path.
He assured that farmers whose land will be acquired for embankment and bridge construction will receive land in the Wellness City under the land pooling policy....
