Obra 'C' unit 2 achieves full load operation
VARANASI, June 18 -- The full load operation of unit 2 of the Obra 'C' thermal power project successfully achieved commercial operations date (COD) on Monday, under guidance and leadership of RK Agarwal, chief general manager, Obra and SK Singhal, chief engineer (C), informed Anurag Mishra, public relations officer of Obra Thermal Power Station in a communique on Tuesday.
With the full load operation of this unit, the state will gain an additional 660 MW of electricity, reaffirming the Obra project's vital role in Uttar Pradesh's power supply system, Mishra added.
The construction of the 2x660 MW Obra 'C' project began in December 2016.
Despite delays caused by the COVID pandemic, continuous monitoring and directions were provided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the headquarters helped ensure the timely completion of this significant project, Mishra said in a statement.
During the full load operation of the second unit, chief general manager RK Agrawal, general manager SK Singhal, superintending engineer Sanjay Patel, executive engineers Rinkesh Kumar, Awadhesh Kumar, Sumant Gautam, Akhilesh Kumar, Chaitanya Kaushal, Sanjeev Yadav, along with other corporation and DPSI personnel, were present....
