LUCKNOW, April 28 -- The State Transformation Commission (STC) has sought an explanation from the Badaun DM after a mishandled delivery at a private nursing home allegedly led to the death of a newborn. According to reports, the woman was taken to the Kadarchowk community health centre but was allegedly referred to a private facility. During the procedure, a staffer allegedly sat on the woman's chest while she was in labour. "A report on the incident, as reported in the media, should be submitted within three days," said STC CEO Manoj Singh. Acting on the family's complaint, the chief medical officer has suspended the CHC in-charge and sealed the nursing home. The woman, from Lalsi Nagla village in Kadarchowk, was taken to the CHC on Sunday after labour pains. Her family alleged she was sent to the private facility, where the incident occurred. They also claimed the hospital demanded payment before allowing her to leave....
