LUCKNOW, Feb. 21 -- Labour and employment minister Anil Rajbhar on Friday ruled out any plan to give unemployment allowance in the state and pointed out that, instead, the government was making efforts to give jobs to all. Rajbhar was replying to Opposition members during Question Hour in the state assembly. "Unemployment allowance is temporary, but we are working on a permanent solution. The department of labour and employment has established the Uttar Pradesh Employment Mission to provide employment opportunities within the country and abroad to candidates and workers seeking employment in Uttar Pradesh, said the minister. "The SP announced an unemployment allowance of Rs.1000 in 2012 with riders and did not consider a person as unemployed if he or she was less than 25 years and over 35 years in age. This was only for one year," the minister said. The employment offices of the state provide employment opportunities through job fairs, overseas employment, service placement arrangements, career counselling, and outsourcing of manpower. Besides, various departments run special employment-oriented schemes such as Chief Minister Youth Welfare Scheme and Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme. The minister also mentioned the One District One Product Financial Assistance Scheme, Chief Minister's Youth Entrepreneurship Development Campaign, Vishwakarma Shram Samman, Mati Kala Tool Box Distribution Scheme, Chief Minister's Rural Employment Scheme, Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), Lakhpati Didi Scheme and Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. htc...
