LUCKNOW, Feb. 17 -- Gyan Tiwari, BJP MLA from Sitapur's Sevata seat, staged a sit-in at the Rampur Mathura police station in that district with his supporters on Sunday accusing cops of forcibly stopping 'Nautanki' (a traditional folk theatre form in North India) in Surjanpur organised by Nishad community on Saturday. Tiwari levelled serious allegations against the police saying their behaviour was creating an atmosphere of fear and discontent among the public. He warned if action was not taken against the guilty cops, he would raise the issue with government. A heated argument ensued between SHO Sanjay Pandey and the MLA. Meanwhile, CO Mahmudabad Ved Prakash reached the police station and explained the situation to him.
