The victim, Akhtar Ali (43), was found dead in a canal on January 30.According to the additional superintendent of police Kumar Akash Singh, the accused woman, Shabina (36), told her boyfriend Altaf that if he wished to continue their relationship, he would have to kill her husband. The couple had six children-one daughter, Zehra, and five sons: Ayaan, Faizan, Salman, Shifan, and Faiz.Akhtar's brother, Afzal Ali, told police that Shabina had been having an affair with Altaf, a resident of the same village, for the past two years, which often led to disputes between Akhtar and Shabina. Afzal Ali said Akhtar left home on January 27 to buy groceries but never returned. A missing complaint was filed the next day, and two days later his body was found in a canal in the forest area of Sirswa Ghosiyan.
