LUCKNOW, Jan. 3 -- The Cantonment area in the state capital will soon get a multi-utility sports complex near the historic Dilkusha Garden, offering facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. The Lucknow Cantonment Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Thursday for the project. Cantonment Board CEO Abhishek Rathore and HAL general manager KK Bhatt signed the agreement. HAL will provide Rs 10 crore for the complex. Rathore said the project was initiated by defence minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh, with HAL providing funding through its corporate social responsibility initiative. "This multi-utility sports complex will offer modern facilities for a wide range of indoor and outdoor games, providing a platform for nurturing emerging talent," he said. The complex will feature badminton courts, a boxing arena, pickleball courts, table tennis halls and other sports facilities. Construction is expected to begin shortly. htc...
