AYODHYA, Feb. 9 -- A sub-inspector posted at Parsarampur police station was found dead in a river after going missing under suspicious circumstances, police said. Ajay Gaur had been untraceable since the evening of February 5. His abandoned motorcycle was earlier recovered near Amhat Ghat in Basti district, raising fears of foul play. SP City Chakrapani Tripathi said the body, found in the Vikramjot outpost area, was in full uniform and identified easily. The officer's wife told police he had received threats over an old case and that their last call lasted only a few seconds before disconnecting on February 5.
