Min warns of action over poor village roads
Meerut, Feb. 5 -- UP Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Wednesday unveiled and inaugurated various development projects worth Rs.138 crore in Bulandshahr. On allegations regarding the poor condition of village roads in the state, the minister said strict action, including suspension, would be taken against officials found guilty of negligence if the claims are proven. The minister was speaking at a programme organized at the Walipura Canal, where he inaugurated multiple irrigation department projects. During the event, he also unveiled several works undertaken by the Bulandshahr Development Authority, including the installation of a statue of Adi Yogi. Targeting the opposition, Swatantra Dev Singh accused it of consistently opposing the government's public welfare initiatives. He said the opposition has opposed major decisions taken in national interest, including the construction of the Ram Temple and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Reacting sharply to allegations being made by the opposition over alleged shortcomings in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, the minister said that merely leveling accusations is not enough. "If the opposition believes there are flaws, it should come forward with concrete proof," he asserted. He further alleged that the opposition is blindly accusing the government despite the successful implementation of its schemes and policies.
