Maurya inaugurates Int'l Conference at Amity Univ
LUCKNOW, April 9 -- Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday highlighted the need for research into ways to enhance the quality of produce, ensuring it can be exported and that farmers receive fair prices for their efforts.
He said this while inaugurating a four-day International Conference on "Pathogens, Plant Health and Food Security: Climate Resilient Agriculture and Landscape Conservation" at Amity University Lucknow Campus.
He emphasised that India is recognised as an agrarian country on the global stage, and Uttar Pradesh possesses some of the nation's most fertile land, capable of producing a wide variety of crops, though challenges persist.
The conference is being jointly organised by the Amity Food and Agriculture Foundation (AFAF), Amity University Lucknow Campus and the Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology (ISMPP).
