Many Cong leaders placed under 'house arrest' in Prayagraj?
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 17 -- It has been alleged that police placed the city, Gangapar, and Yamunapar unit presidents of the Congress party along with other Congress leaders under house arrest on Monday. They were scheduled to travel to Lucknow with party workers on Tuesday to protest on issues like MGNREGA, inflation and unemployment.
Pura Mufti police allegedly arrived at Bamrauli home of Congress city unit chief Fujail Hashmi and placed him under house arrest. Similarly, police from Baharia police station allegedly placed party's Gangapar unit president Ashfaq Ahmed under house arrest at his Sinkandra home while the Shankargarh police allegedly put Yamunapar unit president Ashok Patel under house arrest at his Naribari residence.
Khuldabad police allegedly visited Congress spokesperson Haseeb Ahmed's residence but he was not found at home. Congress city unit chief Hashmi alleged that it was done at the behest of the government....
