VARANASI, Jan. 11 -- Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in Sonbhadra for allegedly posting objectionable comments and circulating a controversial video on social media. The accused has been identified as Samrej, a resident of Rampur Barkonia in Sonbhadra district. A police officer said a video allegedly created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology showed objectionable content involving chief minister Yogi Adityanath along with religious slogans. The video was circulated on social media, prompting police action. Following the complaint, a case was registered at Rampur Barkonia police station under Sections 196(1) and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police then started an investigation into the matter. Based on the findings of the investigation, a police team arrested Samrej for allegedly creating the video and posting the objectionable content, the Sonbhadra police said in a statement.
