Meerut, Feb. 21 -- A 36-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his neighbour and co-worker in Bamnoli village of Baghpat district over suspicion of an illicit relationship with the accused's wife, police said. The victim, Lokendra Kashyap alias Premi, was found hanging from a platform wall outside the accused Haridarshan's house on Thursday. A complaint filed by Lokendra's elder brother Jogendra said both men worked as labourers. He alleged that Haridarshan suspected Lokendra of having an illicit relations with his wife. During interrogation, Haridarshan confessed that he strangled Lokendra with a rope after an argument. The body was later placed outside the house to make it appear as hanging.
