LUCKNOW, March 26 -- A 24-year-old tiles worker was found murdered with his throat slit in a deserted field in Chinhat area late Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Ritesh Singh, a resident of Kalyani Bihar Colony, was found lying in a pool of blood in Hardasikheda after locals alerted the police. A police team rushed to the spot and shifted him to a hospital in a 108 ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. Police said a motorcycle recovered from the scene helped ascertain the identity of the deceased. Empty liquor bottles, cold drink containers and water bottles were also found, suggesting he may have been drinking with others before the incident. "Prima facie, it appears the youth was with acquaintances and a dispute may have led to the murder," Chinhat SHO Dinesh Chandra Mishra said, adding two suspects known to the victim have been detained for questioning. Investigators are probing multiple angles, including personal enmity, financial disputes and a possible altercation among friends. Family members said Ritesh had left home on Tuesday evening without informing anyone. His mother last spoke to him around 7:45pm, when he said he was in Nishatganj. His uncle alleged that a youth named Priyanshu had called Ritesh earlier in the evening, after which he left home with Rs.200. When the family could not contact him as his phone became unreachable, they searched for him in nearby areas, but to no avail. Around 11 pm, they received a call from the police informing them that his body had been found. Police teams are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify those present at the scene and reconstruct the sequence of events. Officials said efforts are underway to establish the exact motive and arrest those responsible. The SHO said that the body has been sent for the post-mortem examination and further investigation is in progress....
