Man drowns while filming reel at Bakulahi Dam; body found 2km downstream
PRAYAGRAJ, April 13 -- The body of a 24-year-old man who drowned on Saturday while bathing and recording a social media reel at a dam on the Bakulahi River near Auwar village was recovered on Sunday, nearly two kilometres downstream.
The deceased was identified as Aniket, a resident of Chilbila under the Nagar Kotwali police station area. The incident occurred Saturday evening when Aniket visited the dam with four friends. While the group was bathing and filming, Aniket slipped into deep water and drowned. Initial search operations by local divers until late night failed to trace him. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from Prayagraj arrived around 9 pm and continued the search overnight using generators for lighting, but without success.
The search resumed Sunday morning from the spot where Aniket was last seen. Around 9 am, a passerby reported seeing a body floating two kilometres downstream. The SDRF team rushed to the location, retrieved the body, and confirmed the identity as Aniket's.htc...
