KANPUR, Feb. 12 -- A 23-year-old youth on Wednesday morning allegedly died by suicide as he jumped from a 120 feet-high mobile tower in Kannauj district's Purabhoj village after spending hours on the tower insisting on marriage with his girlfriend who was also reportedly his relative. It all ended in tragedy despite frantic attempts by police and locals to bring him down. "The police team and family members spent nearly two hours pleading with him to come down. However, he remained adamant and eventually took the leap before anyone could reach him," said a senior police officer at Gursahaiganj police station.
