Lucknow ranks No.1 on Class 12 pass % list
PRAYAGRAJ/Lucknow, April 24 -- Though no student from the state capital managed to break into the top 5 merit list, Lucknow secured the first rank among all 75 districts of UP in terms of overall pass percentage (89.17%) in the UP Board Intermediate (Class 12) examinations. The results saw a statewide Intermediate pass percentage of 80.38%.
Bhadohi led in terms of success rate in Class 10. Lucknow's performance marked a dramatic turnaround as the district had ranked 48th in the Intermediate examination last year. This year, it claimed the top spot with a strong 89.17% pass rate.
The overall Class 10 pass percentage this year stands at 90.42%, but Bhadohi outperformes the state average, registering an impressive 95.78% success rate-the highest in Uttar Pradesh. Agra, which had topped the high school results last year, slipped to second position with a 95.40% pass rate, followed closely by Prayagraj in third place with 95.36%.
Kanpur Nagar stood fourth with 95.20% result, while Kushinagar rounded off the top five with a pass percentage of 93.99%.
Other districts featuring in the HS top 10 include Amroha at 93.74%, Meerut at 93.59%, GB Nagar at 93.49%, Sant Kabir Nagar at 93.34% and Mathura at 93.27%, reflecting a strong performance across several regions.
After Lucknow's top finish, Amethi - last year's topper - secured 2nd place with an 88.96% pass rate, while Amroha finished 3rd with 88.87% results.
Gonda claimed the 4th spot with an 88.82% success rate, followed by Chitrakoot in 5th position with 88.39%.
The remaining districts in the Intermediate top 10 include Fatehpur (87.79%), Moradabad (87.45%), Ghaziabad (87.24%), Maharajganj (87.11%) and Hapur (87.10%).
Lalitpur emerged as the worst-performing district in the HS examination with a pass percentage of 80.22. In Class 12 results, Deoria ranked last among all districts, recording a pass percentage of 66.82....
