Lucknow, April 23 -- A cyber fraud attempt involving Rs.60 lakh was foiled in the city due to an attentive daughter of the victim and swift action by the cyber crime cell, police said on Wednesday. According to the Lucknow Police, the incident came to light when Huma Mustafa, a resident of Shalimar Courtyard on Sitapur Road, approached the cyber crime cell in Hazratganj over behavioural changes in her 86-year-old father, Hamid Mustafa, a retired Panchayati Raj department official. Officials said the elderly man had been receiving WhatsApp video calls since April 8 from fraudsters posing as officers of the CBI and RBI. The callers falsely accused him of involvement in a "human trafficking" case and threatened him with "digital arrest", warning him not to disclose the matter to anyone. "Under pressure, the victim was coerced into arranging Rs.60 lakh and was on the verge of issuing a cheque when his daughter sensed something amiss and alerted authorities," said cyber cell in-charge Sunil Singh....
