LUCKNOW, Dec. 30 -- The Lucknow administration has directed regular monitoring of infrastructure and basic civic amenities in all privately developed townships across the city to ensure future residents do not face problems related to poor infrastructure or essential services. The directive was issued by divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant during a review meeting of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Monday. Senior officials, including LDA vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar, additional district magistrate (finance & revenue) Rakesh Kumar Singh, senior planners, engineers and other officials, attended the meeting at the LDA's Parijat Auditorium. During the review, Pant assessed the progress of the LDA's proposed housing schemes, Varun Vihar, Naimish Nagar, IT City and Wellness City. The progress of land acquisition through land pooling and purchase was said to be satisfactory. He then reviewed residential projects approved under the Integrated Township Policy and developed by private builders. Pant directed that sewage treatment plants being constructed in these townships must be inspected by the Pollution Control Board. He also ordered continuous monitoring of other essential facilities, including power substations and sewer networks. He stressed the need to prioritise the construction of economically weaker section (EWS) and low-income group (LIG) housing units in all townships.
