LDA to launch Varun Vihar housingproject in June with 2,100 plots
LUCKNOW, April 10 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will launch its ambitious Varun Vihar housing scheme in June 2026, opening registrations for around 2,100 plots in the first phase, officials said after a high-level review on Thursday. Authorities have purchased over 330 hectares of land from nearly 1,300 farmers by paying Rs.1,160 crore to them.
Chairing the review meeting, divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant directed officials to expedite mutation and other revenue-related processes to ensure the scheme meets its launch deadline. He stressed that the project falls under the Mukhyamantri Urban Expansion Scheme and must deliver timely housing benefits to residents.
LDA V-C Prathamesh Kumar said the scheme will be developed across 2,270 hectares along Agra Expressway. He added that consent has been received for 853 hectares so far, while land acquisition efforts continue in multiple villages.
The first phase will include plots in Kailash and Kashi sectors, with online registration set to begin in June....
