LUCKNOW, April 28 -- The opening of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, earlier scheduled for inauguration this month-end, has been pushed to the second week of May due to pending technical clearances, as final inspections and system validations are still underway. Officials associated with the NHAI said the delay has held up the issuance of the mandatory no-objection certificate (NOC). While construction of the 62.7-km expressway is largely complete, key processes, including testing and synchronisation of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), verification of CCTV-based monitoring, and safety audits of elevated stretches, are in progress.
