Mussoorie, Jan. 10 -- A 36-year-old labourer died while another man was admitted in critical condition after inhaling smoke from a coal brazier inside an under-construction house in Chamkot village of Uttarkashi district, officials said on Friday. The deceased was identified as Pramod Joshi, a resident of Birpur village in the Dunda block, while the other man, 60-year-old Suresh Chandra of the same village, is undergoing treatment at the district hospital. District disaster management officials said the two had arrived at the site on Thursday night for construction work. To keep warm, they lit an angithi after dinner and went to sleep with the door closed, leading to a buildup of smoke.
