LUCKNOW, Feb. 8 -- The department of anaesthesia and critical care at King George's Medical University (KGMU) celebrated its 65th foundation day along with the 5th Prof S Yajnik Oration on Saturday. The occasion marked a significant milestone in department's illustrious journey of excellence in patient care, medical education, research and service, stated a press release shared with the media. The 5th Prof S Yajnik Oration was delivered by Prof Anita Malik, former Prof and head, department of anaesthesiology and critical care, KGMU. During the talk titled "Neonatal Pain: A Timeline Appreciation of a Multidimensional Entity," Prof Anita highlighted contemporary understanding and evolving perspectives in neonatal pain management. Prof Monica Kohli, head of the department, presented the annual departmental report, outlining the department's academic, clinical and research achievements and sharing its future vision and developmental plans. The vice-chancellor, Prof Soniya Nityanand, appreciated the department's contribution to patient care and institutional excellence. Pro vice-chancellor Prof Apijit Kaur highlighted the evolving and modern role of anaesthesiologists in advancing medical science and healthcare delivery.
