VARANASI, Feb. 15 -- Kashi is all set for Mahashivratri with the KV temple decked up and all arrangements to ensure smooth Darshan of Baba Kashi Vishwanath and tight security arrangements in place. Chief executive officer Vishwa Bhushan said that this year, an estimated 10 to 15 lakh devotees will visit Baba Kashi Vishwanath Dham for Mahashivratri. The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has issued an advisory to devotees, urging them not to bring any prohibited items, such as large bags, mobile phones, smart phones, digital watches, pens, tobacco, polythene bags, plastic items, and other prohibited items. They are advised to leave them at their respective places. Free pure drinking water, ORS, and jaggery will be available at 17 locations within the Dham. Medical teams will also be deployed at three locations and a helpdesk will assist the pilgrims. Additional commissioner of police, law and order, Shivhari Meena said, "A three-tier security cordon has been set up around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple complex, corridors, all entry/exit gates, surrounding streets, and major connecting roads." He said that separate officers have been deployed for the outer enclosure, middle enclosure, and inner enclosure, and their responsibilities should be clearly defined. Instructions have been given to conduct anti-sabotage checking every morning and evening. The bomb disposal squad (BDS), dog squad, and intelligence units have been instructed to ensure prompt action on suspicious activities, said Meena.
