LUCKNOW, Feb. 14 -- The social welfare department on Friday suspended Sunil Kumar Bisen, joint director of the department following serious irregularities in the selection process for course coordinator positions under the Chief Minister's Abhyudaya Scheme, a spokesperson said. A departmental inquiry has been initiated after prima facie negligence was found. During the suspension period, Sunil Kumar Bisen, joint director will remain attached to the directorate and will receive a subsistence allowance as per rules. Minister of state (independent charge) for social welfare, Aseem Arun, received a confidential complaint regarding irregularities in the selection process. Based on this, an investigation was conducted, in which joint director Bisen was found guilty. On October 29, 2025, a complaint was received regarding irregularities in the recruitment of course coordinators for outsourced coaching institutes operating across the state under the CM's Abhyudaya Yojana. The investigation revealed that, as per the rules, passing the UP PCS Main Examination was mandatory for the position of course coordinator.
