Jeweller robbed of 3kg silver at gunpoint on Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 8 -- Some unidentified motorcycle-borne criminals robbed a jeweller of three kilograms of silver at gunpoint on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway on Friday night.
Upon receiving the information, the station officer (SO) of Delhupur Radhey Babu, along with CO (Raniganj) Vinay Prabhakar Sahni, ASP (East) Shailendra Lal, and SP Deepak Bhukar, reached the spot.
After questioning the victim, the officials examined nearby CCTV footage, and police remained at the scene late into the night.
However, no trace of the criminals was found.
The jeweller is reportedly a resident of Gyanipur in the Ramganj area of Amethi.
According to reports, the jeweler was traveling on his motorcycle from Pratapgarh to Prayagraj around 10 pm on Friday night. Allegedly, in the Gajheda forest area along the highway under the Delhupur police station limits in Pratapgarh, motorcycle-borne criminals approached him from behind, stopped him, and at gunpoint snatched his bag before fleeing the scene.
ASP (East) Shailendra Lal said that the investigation was ongoing and CCTV footage from all nearby roads was being examined to trace the culprits....
