Invincible Titans clinch Abbas-Rai Media Cricket League title in Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 23 -- Invincible Titans lifted the title of the Abbas-Rai Media Premier League T20 cricket tournament after defeating Railway Operating Rising Star by six wickets in the finals at the Allahabad University ground on Sunday.
After winning the toss, Railway Operating Rising Star opted to bat and scored 116 for 20 overs.
Chitranjan Chaubey led the scoring with 38, while Arpit Kesharwani (21) and Anuj Shukla (14) chipped in. For Invincible Titans, Syed Ahmed Faizan took 3 for 15, with Saif Ahmed, Ankit Arora and Vipin Kumar Yadav claiming the other wickets.
Chasing 117, Invincible Titans cruised to 120 in 14.5 overs. Rocky starred with 53, while Saif Ahmed remained unbeaten on 31 and Rajat Chaudhary added 18. Amit Kumar and Mohammad Adil took two wickets each for Railway Operating Rising Star.
Following the match, awards were presented to outstanding performers: Rocky was named Man of the Final, Arpit Kesharwani won Best Batsman, Munna Kumar took Best Bowler, and Chitranjan Chaubey was declared Man of the Tournament.
Trophies were presented by Rotary Allahabad President Rajeev Ranjan Agarwal, Chitravansham Group Director Prakhar Srivastava, and former Allahabad University cricket coach Devesh Mishra. Organising secretary was Amit Srivastava, while Sudhir Sinha delivered the vote of thanks.
Several dignitaries and members of the Allahabad Cricket Association, including Someshwar Pandey, Nivedan Shivpuri, and family members of the late Devendra Rai, were present.
Rotary Allahabad extended support to the family of late journalist Devendra Rai by presenting a Rs.60,000 scholarship cheque to his 12-year-old son, Harshit Rai, a class 6 student, through his mother Nivedita Rai.
The organisation also assured full financial assistance for Harshit's education up to class 12. President Rajeev Ranjan Agarwal, honorary secretary Vibhu Agarwal and other members were present. Amit Srivastava thanked Rotary Allahabad for the initiative....
