LUCKNOW, Jan. 10 -- The state government will soon implement investments worth over Rs 6 lakh crore through the GBC 5.0, according to an official statement. The state received investment proposals of Rs 4.28 lakh crore at the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit held in 2018, the press statement said. Subsequently, the UP Global Investors Summit held in 2023 set a new record, receiving letters of intent of approximately Rs 35 lakh crore. So far, groundbreaking ceremonies have been held for more than 16,000 projects with an investment of over Rs 15 lakh crore, the state government said. Of these, over 8,300 projects, involving investments of over Rs 5 lakh crore, have reached commercial operation. Over 8,100 projects worth approximately Rs 10 lakh crore are under implementation, the government added. The index of industrial production also clearly reflects this progress. In the financial year 2024-25, the manufacturing index was recorded at 167.97 and the general index at 157.73 in March 2025.
