Lucknow, Feb. 15 -- The Aam Aadmi Party staged a protest across the state on Saturday against the trade deal between India and US calling it against the interests of farmers, small businesses, and ordinary citizens. In the state capital, AAP workers led by district president Iram Rizvi, staged a protest at the Health Building Crossing. During the protest, a clash broke out between AAP workers and the police, after which the police arrested them and took them to the Eco Garden, Old Jail Road. AAP alleged that the trade deal is a conspiracy to open the Indian agricultural market to American interests, stop the purchase of cheap oil from Russia, impose trade inequality, and mortgage the country's self-respect. They demanded cancellation of the trade deal. AAP leaders stated that they will continue to fight to protect the nation's self-respect, economic sovereignty, and the rights of farmers, and that every anti-people policy of the government will be opposed democratically....
