Prayagraj, Jan. 29 -- The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Allahabad (IIIT-A) on Wednesday signed MoUs with 14 startup companies to strengthen its innovation and startup ecosystem. The agreements were signed by the Innovation and Incubation Foundation of IIIT-A at the institute campus. Officials said the collaborations aim to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, research commercialisation and stronger links between industry and academia. Under the MoUs, both sides will work together on technology development, product innovation, startup incubation, mentoring, skill development, internships, joint research and commercial use of research outcomes. Addressing the event, IIIT-A director prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone said the foundation plays an important role in turning academic research into practical products and startups. He said the partnerships will help startups access the institute's technical expertise, research facilities, faculty guidance and student talent. The startups are from areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cybersecurity, software development, IoT, health-tech, fintech and ed-tech. They will receive support for product testing, pilot projects and scaling their innovations. Prof Satish Kumar Singh, dean and an official of the foundation, said the MoUs will encourage student entrepreneurship, internships and live industry projects, while also helping generate jobs.
