Growing pull sees footfall crossing 10 cr
AYODHYA, Jan. 23 -- Two years after the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, data estimates show that more than 10 crore devotees have visited the temple, according to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust member Anil Mishra.
On an average, around one lakh devotees visited the temple daily during this period, Mishra pointed out, adding that during the Mahakumbh last year, nearly four crore devotees visited the Ram temple in a span of 45 days.
Among those who reached the Ram temple included President Droupadi Murmu, then vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar, then Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
Chief ministers of 20 states also visited the Ram temple during this period. Mishra said that chief ministers from more than six states came to Ayodhya along with their entire cabinets for Ramlalla's darshan.
The Ram temple's influence extended beyond India's borders after the consecration ceremony. Heads of state from two countries, along with senior leaders and diplomats from several nations, marked their presence at the temple.
Mishra said that over the past two years, Ayodhya has emerged as a major centre of faith and devotion, witnessing enthusiasm among devotees and visitors.
