Govt med institutes told to continue PG students' services till counselling over
LUCKNOW, Dec. 7 -- All government medical institutes have been told to continue the services of the postgraduate students who have cleared the examinations, until counselling for their bond service period is completed.
"These students will be allotted hospitals for fulfilling the bond service period with government health facilities, but counselling will take some time. Hence, institutes may continue their services and let them know it is a temporary arrangement," said a letter issued by additional director in the directorate of medical education and training, Uttar Pradesh, Alok Kumar.
"In the interest of patient care, these PG students be allowed to continue working till their posting is done for the bond period," said the letter. PG students are working in different medical institutions, including SGPGIMS, RMLIMS in Lucknow, the Institute of Mental Health and Hospital in Agra, and in state-run medical colleges, including those in Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Meerut, Jhansi, Meerut, Kannauj, Gorakhpur, Jalaun, Azamgarh, Saharanpur and Banda. There are about 1,900 PG candidates. These doctors are supposed to serve a bond period, which is mandatory for all students getting admission in government institutions....
