Girl alleges repeated rape by ex-schoolmate; accused arrested
LUCKNOW, March 26 -- A Class 12 student in Ashiana area was allegedly blackmailed and raped for a prolonged period by a former schoolmate who also reportedly pressured her for to convert her religion, police said.
The accused, Arsh Raza (aged above 18 years), a resident of Rashmi Khand in Ashiana and preparing for some competitive examination, was arrested by the PGI police on Tuesday.
DCP (south) Nipun Agrawal said the girl's father is an army man. He said Raza befriended the victim in school in 2023, obtained her objectionable photos and videos, allegedly raped her and continued to sexually exploit her by blackmail.
According to police, the incident dates back to 2023 when both the victim and the accused were studying in the same school. He allegedly befriended the girl and then obtained her obscene photos and videos.
"He allegedly threatened to make them viral and repeatedly took her to different hotels, where he allegedly raped her on multiple occasions," a police officer said, adding the accused allegedly forced her to consume contraceptive pills.
The matter came to light when the girl's health deteriorated due to continuous intake of the pills, leading to urinary infection.
The victim's mother on Monday filed an FIR at the PGI police station against Arsh Raza, who was booked for relevant sections of the BNS and Pocso Act.
The FIR also names Arsh Raza's parents and two sisters for allegedly threatening the victim's mother....
