GDA demolishes boundary wall of illegal plots near Ring Road
GORAKHPUR, Jan. 25 -- Two days before chief minister Yogi Adityanath's scheduled inspection of the Ramgarh Lake Ring Road on January 26, the Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) on Friday night demolished illegally constructed boundary walls on curved plots spanning a large stretch of land near the Ring Road.
The demolition drive was carried out following an inspection by divisional commissioner Anil Dhingra and GDA vice chairman Anand Vardhan Singh earlier on Friday. As part of the operation, the GDA reclaimed nearly 13 acres of land from land grabbers near the Tal Ring Road area.
The drive was led by GDA executive engineer Praveen Gupta and targeted areas where unauthorised plotting had been carried out without statutory approvals.
]Illegal constructions were found in several localities, including Kusmi Kothi, Matani Balua Tola, Matani, Pragati Vihar, and Behrampur villages, where boundary walls measuring four to five feet in height had been erected. Gupta said the action was taken under provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Town Planning and Development Act, 1973. "Unauthorised plotting disrupts planned urban development and misleads innocent buyers. Such violations will not be tolerated and will be dealt with strictly," he said. Assistant engineer Sanjeev Tiwari said that during the chief minister's two-day visit to Gorakhpur, he is also expected to inaugurate the flyover from Sports College Khajanchi via Jail Bypass and the Nakha flyover on January 27. The CM may also inspect the construction of the six-lane flyover from Deoria Bypass and review the progress of the Heritage Corridor project from Dharamshala Bazaar to Ghanta Ghar....
