Meerut, Jan. 2 -- Shamli police and Special Operations Group (SOG) have arrested three members, one of whom is a bike mechanic, of a gang of vehicle lifters. The gang confessed to stealing more than 100 motorcycles over the last five years, police said. The police also recovered 17 stolen motorcycles, a car, three mobile phones, a knife, and an L-type master key used for stealing vehicles. ASP Sumit Shukla said at a press conference that the arrests were made during night checking on Jhinhana Road. During interrogation, the accused were identified as Vijaypal a resident of Ghanashali in Tehri Garhwal district ; Danish of Khanpur Lakkhi in Moradabad; and Hem Singh of Waladehra in Alwar district of Rajasthan.
