Four youths in their early 20s die after car falls in Mathura canal
Agra, Feb. 20 -- Four youths in their early 20s died after the car they were travelling in, fell into a canal in Mathura district on Wednesday night. Three of them were from village Mahawan of Mathura district. They were going to Deeg town in Rajasthan to attend a marriage.
Suresh Chandra Rawat, superintendent of police (rural), Mathura, said that the tragic incident took place at a canal near village Nagla Devaria within the limits of Mogarra police station of Mathura on Wednesday night.
"The car they were travelling in seems to have lost balance and fell into the canal. Locals brought out the car and informed the police but by the time the occupants of the car were brought out, all four were dead," said the SP rural.
The deceased were identified as Mohit, 23, Amit, 22 and Rahul, all three from Mahawan area of Mathura. Mohit and Amit were law students and were accompanied by their friend Gullu from Faridabad.
It rained lightly on Wednesday night in the region which might have led to the road getting slippery and the mishap happening....
