Four held while trying to sell stolen iron rods
LUCKNOW, Feb. 3 -- Lucknow Police on Monday foiled an attempt to dispose of stolen iron rods, arresting four men before they could sell a large consignment of iron rods in neighbouring Sitapur district, said police.
The accused had stolen the material to earn quick money, but the deal was put water following a timely police operation. Acting on a tip-off on February 2, a joint team of the Crime Branch and BKT police laid a trap at the Kisan Path.
In a joint operation, the police and the Sashastra Seema Bal rescued three Nepalese women and a minor girl from suspected human traffickers near the Indo-Nepal border on Sunday night. Two traffickers were arrested, while the rescued victims were handed over to an NGO for care.
