four held for peacock poaching in pali's Kumbhalgarh range
Jaipur, Feb. 6 -- At least four people were arrested for hunting a peacock in the Kumbhalgarh range in Pali, officials said on Wednesday.
Deputy conservator of forest in Pali, Kasturi Sule, said, "The matter came to light during the night patrolling on Wednesday when the forest department team intercepted a car inside the forest and recovered the carcass of a peacock along with some knives, and guns."
The accused were identified as Govind Solanki, Sujal Valmiki, Lucky, and Bunty. "An FIR has been registered under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. We are questioning them and whether they are part of any gang. Further probe is on," the officer said....
